Semi-Frameless Shower Enclosures

Semi-Frameless shower doors are an excellent and more budget friendly option when choosing to upgrade your bathroom to a more modern look and feel. Semi-frameless is a type of framed shower door enclosure that is made with only the minimum amount of metal needed for the stability of the unit. A semi-frameless enclosure has a metal header, and any fixed glass panels have a thin metal frame. The glass used can be either 1/4″ or 3/16” tempered safety glass. The glass on the door of the enclosure does not have a metal frame leaving the beautifully polished edges exposed which makes this style enclosure considered ‘semi-frameless’. On neo-angle units returning panels can sometimes be ‘butt’ glazed together to eliminate metal joints to give enclosures a more ‘frameless’ look and feel.

Semi-frameless shower doors can be made to accommodate all types of enclosures including neo-angle, L-shaped, inline door and panels, custom doors sizes as well as sliding bypass doors for tubs and showers.

Most sliding bypass shower doors are also considered semi-frameless. Bypass shower doors will typically have no frame around the actual doors but will have a metal frame along the perimeter of the entire enclosure.

Depending on your needs, the application, and the look and feel you desire a semi-frameless enclosure could be a beautiful option for your project.
